The Lid is heavy and cumbersome, and you end up propping it up with your head to free up your hands--especially to access the actual spare tire--and that is just sketchy and uncomfortable!

Install this Kit and never have that hassle again. The gas springs will help you lift the Lid and then hold it up until you are finished.

Kit requires drilling; see link to Inslallation Instructions below. Fits all early cars up until approximately 1974 when the larger tailboard with the piano hinge was adopted. This kit can also fit these later cars, but with modification in bracket placement.
